Today I started with an orientation meeting in the shipping/receiving department. Mike gave us a tour of the inventory and all of the rooms associated with inventory, including small assembly and the install station. He introduced us to all of the people that work in each station. We then got to sit in during the Shipping Meeting. In this meeting, someone from practically every department was there. there was someone from sales, Lee from the machine shop, and all of the shipping people we had just met. They went through each of the orders that they had coming through in the next few days, and everyone took notes on what they needed to have done by then. Then the meeting was over and we got to see the bubble-wrap maker and the Insta-Pack machine in action. From there, I went to help Hugh continue with the plumbing job he had from yesterday. We also had to set up an AutoBox, which is this device that pulls a hose either forward or backwards using compressed air. The AutoBox was going to be used in a media shoot either for the website or a catalog or something like that. I saw them with a video camera there later so I assume it was for a video for the website. After that Hugh and I continued to work on the plumbing and made some significant progress. I think tomorrow we will be able to get quite far, maybe even finish.
