Today I started off helping Hugh with taking apart the AutoBox that we had set up yesterday. I took all the outside panels off and cleaned them up. Then I went to another orientation meeting in which Bill gave the new hires and me an overview of the waterblasting industry. It was pretty cool to see how StoneAge has a very specialized product, yet they have a strong hold of the market. It was also cool to learn about the Spincats, because I hadn't seen or heard of those before. After that, we got to learn about what the marketing team does. After that I went back into the engineering shop to continue taking apart the AutoBox. I got all of the pieces off the main gear box, and began cleaning them. I had to take the logo sticker off, which was a pain because it kept tearing and didn't come all at once. But I got it off eventually, and the underside was a nice, shiny silver. I buffed out all of the pieces with a Scotch-Brite pad and then used an air-powered sander to take out some of the scratches. After that I used the buffing pad again to create a uniform surface. By this time, Hugh needed my help completing the plumbing system. So we got the float installed and the all of the the pipes hooked up. the float gauge that indicates how full the tank is still needs some work, but I think we will do that tomorrow. After the plumbing was done, I went back to assembling the AutoBox. As I was putting it together, I noticed that some of the holes seemed a little off. I will check on it tomorrow.
